the name is vanessa but everybody calls me van. estranged ex-NJCanoeist of 2004/05 K2-500m. I'm a WSO (FIGHTER) trainee and I'm doing my BA(Hons) English and Politics in the University of York. I like fast cars, literature, art and tulips. I cannot cook. When I was younger I wanted to be an astronaut. I am hopeless at math or anything remotely related to formulae. I detest parsley. I love the colour burgundy. My Macbook is my bestfriend and I've played with Macs since I was 15 so no, I didn't jump on the bandwagon. I have lofty dreams but I'm often afraid to chase them. I don't get angry I get disappointed. I intend to learn Spanish and German. Oh, and I think Liverpool kicksmajorass - I am not a fair-weathered fan. I think ambiguity is beautiful.

We celebrated my sister's birthday yesterday and my dear mom forgot how old she was (16) so she only got 14 (!!) candles. HAHAH. So my genius dad decided to slice the candles in half and carve away the wax to get to the wick in order to get six dwarf candles. SUPER CUTE RIGHT.

Ah and today at Acid Bar with Dav I took photos of the tealights. We bought our books today. At Kino's Lit Section we were pondering over Chaucer's "The Parliament of Birds" and this UBERCUTE guy looked at us and said in an awfully disarming (Brit?) accent - "You girls read Chaucer?? I've never been able to get through Chaucer!" ARRGH I was totally mesmerised. Apparently, so was Dav, cos as we turned to go off she went "and YOU'RE reading Homer! I've never been able to get through Homer!". Silly little flirtatious girl. BUT GAH he was so sexy. We really like guys who know their classics but not pretend to know them. I mean, Chaucer's all Middle English soooo it's hardd. SEXY WHEE.
