Whoa I'm back from Brunei at last. Lets just say that it was an experience of a lifetime, but it's also something I never ever wanna do again. For all the 5 months I've been in the SAF, it was only at this point when I was in the jungle chopping nipah leaves and when I was forced to kill the quail that I actually QUESTIONED myself. "OMG van, what have you gotten yourself into, what the hell are you doing hereeeeee???!" Seriously, it was that bad. To twist and pull the head off the quail, watch its wings flap and convulse involuntarily, to skin the bird and feel the warmth that had yet to leave its body.. I wanted to puke. My hands were really trembling as I skinned the poor bird, but I had no choice. My whole career depended on that thing. Sigh.
Anyway, it was really a good learning experience. It's also prob the last time I'm gonna be touching my No.4 and my SBO. A little bit of nostalgia there. Come monday I'll be reporting to TASC for my attachment. It's now time to don the crisp, pressed No.3. The BLUES for real now, leaving the GREEN for good. Somehow, I know there'll always be a bit of the armygirl in me, still dormant and suppressed, but yet quietly satiated.
Then it really made my day when I popped by to Sierra and spent some time with him. ELEVEN DAYS OMG. It's really amazing seeing him again. It's just so good to be back home. Brunei was kinda hellish, if I may repeat myself.
And it's another aircrew gathering tomorrow, then BBQ with the girls team on sat at peishan's!!!!!!!!! At LONG LAST omg. Then sunday's our day. The weekend's looking pretty promising :)
