I guess the common perception now is that he has to get sword of honour/merit in order to match up to me cos I'm a scholar. A relationship isn't about MATCHING UP. I couldn't give a shit if he were freaking outofcoursed now or something, and got demoted to 3SG. It's not about rank, it's not about status, it's about the emotional connection that goes much much deeper than that. We're not superficial people, and that's all that matters. What he said about sums up everything: "why can't they bloody understand that I can't care less abt the other girls and I just want you."
I guess this really affected him, but for me I'm beyond caring about what people say. So what if getting the scholarship means that I'm gonna commission soon and he has to call me mdm? You think I'll pull rank? BULL. Plus there are a lot of people who keep telling him not to wait for me when I go abroad. (4years uni + 2years WSO FTR training - UK & France) Uhhh, ever heard of keeping your filthy noses out of our business? That's why I marvel at how different he is from other guys.
Anyway, he's en route (literally) to his senior bar now. 23km route march and a charge up Elephant Hill in FBO. Funny how all Airwing had to do to get our senior bar was survive through pure boredom. All we had was a parade, but the army people have to go through so much. More pride, I think.
Oh, and some people are SO BLOODY DELUDED. I don't know whether to roll on the floor and laugh till my guts spill out, or whether to get so hopelessly exasperated. Good grief.
