Sorry for the blogging spree, but it's Liverpool 0 Tottenham 0. Shit I should have bet on 0-0 and draw. Exactly the score I predicted.
I don't know whether to be upset that they didn't get all 3 points, or to be happy that they played well and got a point. Pool playing against one of my more respected teams in the League, I honestly didn't know who to support. Both sides played very well. The defence was rock solid. Spurs' new Korean guy was amazing too. And Steve Finnan is getting better and better. Benitez tried something new today, and I think it worked. Finnan, Carra, Hyypia, Warnock, then Garcia, Hamann, Gerrard, Riise, and finally Cisse, CROUCH. I think Riise works better than Sissoko in the side, but there's no denying the latter's dogged determination. Hamann's losing touch, but is still vvv reliable. Alonso (sub) was at his usual best. It's nice to know that we have 3 strong central midfielders we can count on. Crouch and Cisse do have lots of potential. More so than Cisse and Morientes. Too bad we can't see Crouch/Moro as yet. Reina did well in goal.. no butterfingers. :)
As for Spurs, I must say that Martin Jol has done a fantastic job with the team. A note to Eriksson who was in the crowd - looking for a replacement for Becks? Looking for someone to work with Gerrard/Lampard? Look no further for you have the answer in Michael Carrick. As for replacing Rooney against Austria? Yes, Jermaine Defoe would be perfect. I hope he has sense. But then again....... that's real debatable!
